Lack of attention to detail

VW produced a lot of different version of the cylinder head I wanted, many of these had the same casting number. So when I received the exact type of head I was wanting, I was surprised.

The head however lacks a degree of thoroughness and attention to detail. The injector ports are dirty. Part of the head still has red paint on it, (should never have been red to begin with) and one of the exhaust manifold studs is missing.
I expect a reconditioned cylinder head to look better. The last machine shop I used did better work.

Time will tell how well the head will work but based on the appearance of it, I don't have a lot of faith the mechanics were addressed with much precision.
