Great rebuild. Was missing an exhaust manifold stud, but a couple unthreaded from my old cylinder head, so I just reused one.
Received one of each, welded around center head bolt holes which is good. Drivers side went great, all rocker arms torqued down to 22ft pounds no issues. On to passenger side...... one rocker hole was already repaired with what looked like a time sert. Would not torque down to 22ft pounds, kept spinning. Was able to get 15ft pounds so I left it alone.....moved along in the sequence following the Gm procedures, torqueing with cam on base circle and one in the middle completely stripped out, all threads pulled out. I repaired with a heli-coil. Torqued the rest down to 15ft pounds because all the rest of the rocker arm bolt threads looked very sketchy. Engine does run good but its only been a couple days since I installed. I'm HOPING and PRAYING that side holds up. Not too happy that that had happened. For what I paid for this pair of heads this shouldn't have happened. Fingers crossed this doesn't rear its ugly head in the future. God forbid it does I'm going to have to repair all of them on that side with longer heli-coil inserts that actually allow the rocker arm bolts to be torqued to proper spec.
The heads arrived. However the box with the head gaskets was so badly mangled that the head gasket were broke and useless.
Order was sent quickly. I received exactly what was advertised. Took them to my local machine shop for inspection and they checked out good. Worth the money.
